The whole nation stops for 3 minutes on the first Tuesday of November for the running of the Melbourne Cup- since the year 1861.  It is run at the Flemington Track in Melbourne (Australia) and attracts horses from world wide. Cup Day is when the latest fashions, as well as the horses, are paraded and judged.
