Anzac Pilgrimage Tour

After the Dawn Service, which will be held on that sacred spot where Australian Diggers landed , the pilgrimage will visit the landing spot on the beach at Anzac Cove and inspect the cliffs, trenches, and graves of our fallen soldiers. Then Turkish experts will take the group to where the infamous battles of Lone Pine and the Nek were fought. They will point out the tracks where Simpson and his donkey rescued the wounded. Those on the tour will meet young Australian backpackers - about the same age as the Anzacs - who make their way to this historic site every year. It will also visit other hideouts like the mysterious hilltop cafe homes in the wilderness of Cappadocia with cave chapels and monasteries in which Christians buried themselves to escape Moslem attack - amazing structures worthy of being listed as a wonder of the world. The pilgrims will also travel back to the start of modern time to Roman Turkey, visiting monuments built around the time of Christ including the Temple of Athewna, Ephesus, Hierepolis, Ascklepion, Perge and Side before visiting the Virgin Mary's House As a special treat, the tour will finish up with the light relief of wining and dining The 14 day tour leaves Sydney on April 20.
