Rainbow Lorikeet Trichoglossus haematodus
Nectar eating birds living all up and down the
extreme eastern strip of Australia and Tas-
mania. One of the most brilliantly plumaged
of the Australian parrots, they feed in blossom
laden trees, and are very suitable for aviary
breeding. Rainbows are extremely noisy birds
and attract attention by their screeching and
chattering. Lorikeets fly very swiftly, in a direct
path.
